Profile

Rhys Jones, FLSW FAcSS, is a Professor of Human Geography and former Head of Department of Geography and Earth Sciences at Aberystwyth University. As a human geographer, he is interested in the relationships between nature and culture, the economy and social justice. He is also an expert on the use being made of behavioural insights in public policy in a range of different countries and, as such, is interested in how public policies can be used to elicit positive environmental behaviours. He has advised the Welsh Government and other public and voluntary bodies in Wales on a number of policy challenges and he has been a Board Member of Natural Resources Wales since 2023.
